The registrar's office is located on the west side of Administration Center.
The office is open 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (summer) and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (school year), Monday-Friday.
As a SWCC student, the registrar's office will help you with the following:
- Register for Classes
- Add/Drop Courses
- Withdraw from Southwestern
- Review Academic Policies (see Student Handbook)
- Request a Transcript
- Check out the Academic Calendar for specific registration dates.
All new students should meet initially with a representative in the admissions office to develop their first class schedule. They will be assigned an academic advisor at that time.
Returning students are expected to meet with their academic advisors as soon as class schedules are available. Your advisor can help plan your schedule and his or her signature is required for registration. If you don't know who your advisor is, please contact the registrar's office.
For questions regarding registration, please stop in the registrar's office or call 641.782.1326 or 641.782.1422.

Dropping/Withdrawing from Online Courses
The Iowa Community College Online Consortium (ICCOC) establishes the start and end dates for online classes. The last day that a student may drop/withdraw from an online course is two weeks prior to the last day of online classes.
Students dropping one or more classes or withdrawing from Southwestern Community College during a term, are required to notify the registrar by one of the following methods: mail, e-mail, or in the registrar’s office. Students notifying the registrar through written communication should include their first, middle, and last name along with date of birth. Course cancellation, drop, or withdraw will not be accepted over the phone.
Students who wish to withdraw from college are required to complete a signed withdrawal form available in the registrar's office in Creston or from the off-campus centers in Red Oak or Osceola.
